Raphael Warnock
Raphael Warnock is an American politician and pastor who serves as the junior United States Senator from Georgia. He was elected in January 2021 in a special election, becoming the first African American to represent Georgia in the Senate. Warnock is a member of the Democratic Party and has focused on issues such as healthcare, voting rights, and economic equality.
Before his political career, Warnock was the senior pastor of the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, where Martin Luther King Jr. once preached. He holds a degree from Morehouse College and a doctorate from Union Theological Seminary. His background in ministry has influenced his approach to public service and community engagement.
