Raoul Hausmann was an influential Austrian artist and writer, born on July 12, 1886, in Vienna. He became a key figure in the Dada movement, which emerged as a reaction to the horrors of World War I. Hausmann is best known for his innovative use of photomontage, a technique that combines photographs and other visual elements to create new meanings.
In addition to his artistic contributions, Hausmann was also involved in Berlin's avant-garde scene, collaborating with other notable artists like Hannah Höch and Tristan Tzara. He later moved to Spain and then to France, where he continued to create and promote his ideas until his death on February 1, 1971.
