Ramphastidae
Ramphastidae, commonly known as toucans and aracaris, is a family of colorful birds found primarily in Central and South America. They are easily recognized by their large, vibrant bills, which can be almost as long as their bodies. These birds inhabit tropical and subtropical forests, where they play a vital role in seed dispersal.
Toucans are social creatures, often seen in small groups. They primarily feed on fruits, but their diet can also include insects and small animals. The family consists of several genera, with the most well-known being Ramphastos, which includes the iconic Keel-billed Toucan.
