Rajaram Maharaj
Rajaram Maharaj was a prominent figure in the Maratha Empire, known for his leadership and military skills. He was the younger brother of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the founder of the empire, and played a crucial role in continuing Shivaji's legacy after his death. Rajaram ascended to the throne in 1681 and focused on resisting Mughal invasions while strengthening the Maratha forces.
During his reign, Rajaram Maharaj established his base at Raigad Fort and implemented various strategies to maintain the independence of the Maratha Empire. His efforts included guerrilla warfare tactics and alliances with other regional powers. Rajaram's leadership was instrumental in preserving the Maratha identity and autonomy during a challenging period.
