Raimond IV of Toulouse
Raimond IV of Toulouse, also known as Raymond IV, was a prominent nobleman and military leader in the 11th century. Born around 1041, he became the Count of Toulouse and played a significant role in the First Crusade, which began in 1096. His leadership and strategic skills were crucial in the capture of Jerusalem in 1099.
As a key figure in the Crusade, Raimond was known for his piety and commitment to the Christian cause. He established the County of Edessa and sought to protect Christian territories in the Holy Land. Raimond IV died in 1105, leaving a lasting legacy in both European and Middle Eastern history.
