Raymond IV
Raymond IV, also known as Raymond of Toulouse, was a prominent nobleman and military leader during the First Crusade in the late 11th century. Born around 1041, he became the Count of Toulouse and played a crucial role in the capture of Jerusalem in 1099. His leadership and strategic skills were vital in the success of the Crusaders.
After the conquest of Jerusalem, Raymond IV was named the first ruler of the newly established Kingdom of Jerusalem. He sought to expand his influence in the region but faced challenges from rival leaders. Raymond IV died in 1105, leaving a lasting legacy in Crusader history.
