Rabbi Elchonon Wasserman
Rabbi Elchonon Wasserman was a prominent Jewish scholar and leader born in 1874 in what is now Lithuania. He was a student of the famous Rabbi Yisrael Meir Kagan, known as the Chofetz Chaim, and became a significant figure in the Yeshiva movement. Rabbi Wasserman was known for his deep knowledge of Talmud and Jewish law, and he dedicated his life to teaching and guiding his students.
During World War II, Rabbi Wasserman was a vocal opponent of the Nazi regime and worked tirelessly to save Jewish lives. Tragically, he was murdered in 1941 in the Holocaust. His teachings and writings continue to inspire many within the Orthodox Jewish community today.
