RTE Act
The RTE Act, or the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, was enacted in India in 2009. It mandates free and compulsory education for children aged 6 to 14 years. The act aims to ensure that every child has access to quality education, promoting their overall development and well-being.
Under the RTE Act, private schools are required to reserve 25% of their seats for children from economically weaker sections. The act also emphasizes the importance of infrastructure, trained teachers, and a child-friendly learning environment, ensuring that education is inclusive and equitable for all children in India.
