Queen Maud
Queen Maud was the first queen consort of Norway after the country became a kingdom in 1905. Born on January 26, 1869, in London, she was the daughter of Prince Arthur, Duke of Connaught and Princess Louise of Wales. Maud married King Haakon VII of Norway in 1896, and together they played a significant role in modernizing the Norwegian monarchy.
As queen, Maud was known for her charitable work and support of various social causes, including education and health. She was also a patron of the arts and helped promote Norwegian culture. Queen Maud passed away on November 20, 1938, in Oslo.
