Queen Mary II was a monarch of England, Scotland, and Ireland who reigned from 1689 until her death in 1694. She was born on April 30, 1662, and was the daughter of James II of England and Anne Hyde. Mary became queen alongside her husband, William III, after they overthrew her father in the Glorious Revolution.
Mary II was known for her strong Protestant beliefs and her efforts to promote religious tolerance. During her reign, she supported the establishment of the Bill of Rights 1689, which limited the powers of the monarchy and laid the foundation for a constitutional monarchy in England.
