Queen Marie
Queen Marie, often referred to as Marie Antoinette, was the last queen of France before the French Revolution. Born in 1755 in Vienna, she was the daughter of Empress Maria Theresa and Holy Roman Emperor Francis I. Marie married Louis XVI of France at the age of 14, becoming queen in 1774. She is known for her extravagant lifestyle, which contributed to public discontent.
Her reign was marked by political turmoil and economic hardship in France. As the revolution gained momentum, Marie and Louis were arrested in 1792. In 1793, she was executed by guillotine, symbolizing the end of the monarchy and the rise of republicanism in France.
