Queen Caroline
Queen Caroline was the wife of King George IV of the United Kingdom. Born on May 17, 1768, in Brunswick, Germany, she married George in 1795. Their relationship was tumultuous, marked by infidelity and political strife, leading to a separation in 1814.
Caroline became a controversial figure in British society, especially during the 1820s when George ascended the throne. She sought recognition as queen consort but faced opposition from her husband and the government. Caroline's struggle for her rights culminated in a public trial, which ultimately ended with her death on August 7, 1821, before any resolution was reached.
