Queen Anne of Denmark
Queen Anne of Denmark (1574-1619) was the wife of King James I of England. Born in Denmark, she married James in 1589, uniting the crowns of Scotland and England. Anne was known for her patronage of the arts and her interest in literature, which contributed to the cultural life of the court.
As queen consort, Anne played a significant role in the political landscape of her time. She was the mother of several children, including Henry Frederick, Prince of Wales, and Elizabeth Stuart, who later became the queen of Bohemia. Her influence helped shape the early 17th-century monarchy.
