Qian Zhongshu
Qian Zhongshu (1910-1998) was a prominent Chinese writer, scholar, and translator, known for his contributions to literature and philosophy. He was born in Shanghai and later studied at Tsinghua University and Oxford University. His most famous work, "Fortress Besieged," is a satirical novel that explores the complexities of love and society in 1940s China.
In addition to his literary achievements, Qian was an expert in classical Chinese literature and Western literature. He also translated works from English and French into Chinese, enriching the cultural exchange between East and West. His intellectual legacy continues to influence Chinese literature today.
