Qeshm Geopark
Qeshm Geopark is located on Qeshm Island in the Persian Gulf, Iran. It covers an area of approximately 300 square kilometers and is recognized for its unique geological formations, including salt domes, mangrove forests, and diverse ecosystems. The park is home to various species of flora and fauna, making it a significant site for biodiversity.
Established in 2006, Qeshm Geopark is part of the UNESCO Global Geoparks network. It aims to promote sustainable development through geotourism and environmental education. Visitors can explore its natural wonders, including Chahkooh Canyon and Hengam Island, while learning about the region's geological history and cultural heritage.
