Pyramidion
A Pyramidion is the small, often pyramid-shaped stone that sits at the apex of an ancient Egyptian pyramid. These structures were typically made of granite or limestone and were sometimes covered in gold or electrum to reflect sunlight. The pyramidion served both a decorative and symbolic purpose, representing the connection between the earth and the heavens.
In ancient Egyptian culture, the pyramidion was associated with the sun god, Ra, and was believed to help the deceased pharaoh ascend to the afterlife. Many pyramidions were inscribed with religious texts or images, further emphasizing their spiritual significance in the context of Egyptian burial practices and beliefs.
