Pygmy Marmoset
The Pygmy Marmoset is one of the smallest primates in the world, weighing only about 4 to 5 ounces and measuring around 5 to 6 inches in length, excluding its tail. Native to the rainforests of the Amazon Basin in South America, these tiny monkeys are known for their agile movements and distinctive appearance, featuring large eyes and a tufted tail.
Pygmy marmosets primarily feed on insects, fruits, and tree sap. They live in small family groups and communicate through a variety of vocalizations. Their small size and unique adaptations make them fascinating subjects for studying primate behavior and ecology.
