Common Marmoset
The Common Marmoset is a small primate native to the forests of Brazil. It typically weighs around 300 grams and has a body length of about 25 centimeters, excluding its long tail. These monkeys have a distinctive appearance, featuring a white face with tufts of fur on the sides and a brownish or grayish body. They are social animals, often living in groups of 3 to 15 individuals.
Common Marmosets are known for their vocalizations, which include a variety of chirps and whistles. They primarily feed on insects, fruits, and tree sap, using their specialized teeth to extract sap from trees. Their adaptability to different habitats has allowed them to thrive in both primary and secondary forests.
