Puri Jagannath
Puri Jagannath is a famous Hindu temple located in the coastal city of Puri, Odisha, India. It is dedicated to Lord Jagannath, a form of Lord Krishna. The temple is known for its grand architecture and is a significant pilgrimage site for millions of devotees. The annual Rath Yatra, or chariot festival, attracts large crowds as the deities are paraded through the streets in massive wooden chariots.
The temple complex features three main deities: Jagannath, his elder brother Balabhadra, and sister Subhadra. The deities are made of wood and are replaced every 12 to 19 years during a special ceremony called Nabakalebara. The temple's rituals and traditions are deeply rooted in the culture of Odisha, making it an important center for Vaishnavism.
