Purépecha people
The Purépecha people are an indigenous group primarily located in the state of Michoacán, Mexico. They have a rich cultural heritage, known for their unique language, also called Purépecha, which is distinct from other indigenous languages in the region. Historically, they were known for their advanced metallurgy and skilled craftsmanship, particularly in pottery and weaving.
The Purépecha community has maintained many of its traditions despite external influences. They celebrate various festivals, such as the Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), which reflects their deep spiritual beliefs. Today, the Purépecha people continue to advocate for their rights and cultural preservation in modern society.
