Puente Colgante
The Puente Colgante, also known as the Vizcaya Bridge, is a famous hanging bridge located in Getxo, Spain. Completed in 1893, it connects the towns of Portugalete and Getxo across the Nervión River. This engineering marvel was designed by Alfredo de Arrilucea and is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The bridge features a unique gondola system that transports vehicles and pedestrians between the two banks. Standing at 61 meters high, it was the world's first transporter bridge and remains an important symbol of industrial heritage in the Basque Country.
