Project Elephant
Project Elephant is an initiative launched by the Government of India in 1992 to protect and conserve the country's elephant population. The project aims to address the challenges faced by elephants, such as habitat loss, human-elephant conflict, and poaching. It focuses on creating wildlife corridors and enhancing the management of protected areas.
The project also emphasizes community involvement and awareness to promote coexistence between humans and elephants. By working with local communities, Project Elephant seeks to ensure sustainable development while safeguarding the natural habitat of these majestic animals.
