Progressive Supranuclear Palsy
Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) is a rare neurodegenerative disorder that affects movement, balance, and eye control. It is caused by the degeneration of specific brain cells, leading to symptoms such as stiffness, difficulty with coordination, and problems with vision. Patients may also experience changes in mood and cognition.
The condition typically progresses over time, with symptoms worsening gradually. PSP is often misdiagnosed as Parkinson's disease due to overlapping symptoms, but it has distinct features, such as difficulty looking up or down. There is currently no cure, and treatment focuses on managing symptoms to improve quality of life.
