Progressive Conservative Party of Alberta
The Progressive Conservative Party of Alberta (PC Party) is a political party in the province of Alberta, Canada. Founded in 1905, it has historically been one of the dominant political forces in the province, promoting conservative values and policies. The party has focused on economic growth, fiscal responsibility, and social conservatism.
The PC Party governed Alberta for over four decades, with notable leaders such as Ralph Klein and Ed Stelmach. However, in 2015, the party lost power to the Alberta New Democratic Party (NDP). In 2017, the PC Party merged with the Wildrose Party to form the United Conservative Party (UCP), which continues to influence Alberta's political landscape.
