Program Files
The "Program Files" folder is a standard directory on Windows operating systems where installed software applications are stored. This folder typically contains the main files needed for programs to run, including executable files, libraries, and other resources. It is usually located on the primary hard drive, often under the path C:\Program Files.
In addition to the main "Program Files" folder, there is also a "Program Files (x86)" directory on 64-bit versions of Windows. This folder is specifically for 32-bit applications, allowing users to run older software on newer systems. Both folders help organize installed programs and ensure proper functionality.
