Process Capability
Process Capability refers to the ability of a manufacturing process to produce items that meet specified requirements. It is measured by comparing the natural variation of the process to the specifications set for the product. A capable process consistently produces outputs within the defined limits, ensuring quality and reducing waste.
To assess Process Capability, various statistical tools are used, such as Cp and Cpk indices. These indices help determine how well a process can produce products within the desired specifications. A higher value indicates a more capable process, leading to improved efficiency and customer satisfaction.
