Privacy by Design
"Privacy by Design" is a concept that emphasizes integrating privacy measures into the development of products and services from the very beginning. This approach ensures that privacy considerations are not just an afterthought but a fundamental part of the design process. By doing so, organizations can better protect user data and enhance trust.
The principle was developed by Ann Cavoukian, a former Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario, Canada. It consists of seven foundational principles, including proactive measures, default settings that favor privacy, and transparency, all aimed at safeguarding personal information throughout its lifecycle.
