Princess Olga of Kiev
Princess Olga of Kiev was a prominent figure in the early history of Kievan Rus. Born around 890, she became the regent of Kiev after the death of her husband, Prince Igor, in 945. Known for her intelligence and political acumen, Olga sought to avenge her husband's death by punishing the Drevlians, the tribe responsible for his murder.
During her reign, Olga implemented significant reforms, including establishing trade relations with the Byzantine Empire. She is also recognized for her efforts to promote Christianity in the region, making her one of the first rulers to embrace the faith, which would later influence the conversion of Kievan Rus to Christianity.
