Drevlians
The Drevlians were an East Slavic tribe that inhabited the region of modern-day Ukraine, particularly around the area of the Kiev and Dnieper rivers. They were known for their agricultural practices and were part of the larger group of tribes that eventually formed the Kievan Rus state. The Drevlians had a distinct culture and social structure, with their own leaders and customs.
In the 10th century, the Drevlians became notable for their conflict with Kievan Rus, particularly during the reign of Prince Igor of Kiev. After Igor's death, they attempted to resist the authority of the Kievan state, leading to a significant military confrontation. Ultimately, their resistance was unsuccessful, and they were integrated into the expanding Kievan Rus territory.
