Prince William Augustus
Prince William Augustus, Duke of Cumberland and Strathearn, was born on April 15, 1725. He was the second son of King George II of Great Britain and Caroline of Ansbach. Known for his military career, he played a significant role in the Battle of Culloden in 1746, which was a decisive conflict in the Jacobite rising.
Despite his military achievements, William was often criticized for his leadership style and personal conduct. He became a controversial figure, especially due to his involvement in the political and military affairs of his time. He died on October 31, 1765, leaving a complex legacy.
