George II was the King of Great Britain and Ireland from 1727 until his death in 1760. He was born on October 30, 1683, in Hanover, Germany, and became the last British monarch born outside of Great Britain. His reign saw the expansion of the British Empire and significant military conflicts, including the {War of the Austrian Succession} and the {Seven Years' War}.
As a ruler, George II was known for his strong personality and involvement in politics. He was the first British monarch to be born a German and spoke little English early in his reign. His leadership helped shape the modern British monarchy, and he was succeeded by his grandson, {George III}.
