Prince Alfred
Prince Alfred was the second son of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, born on August 15, 1844. He served in the Royal Navy and held the title of Duke of Edinburgh. Alfred was known for his interest in military affairs and his dedication to public service.
In 1866, he became the first Duke of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha after his mother’s cousin died. Alfred was also involved in various charitable organizations and promoted education and the arts. He passed away on July 30, 1900, leaving a legacy of service and commitment to his duties.
