President of Germany
The President of Germany is the head of state and represents the country in diplomatic matters. This position is largely ceremonial, with real political power resting with the Chancellor, who is the head of government. The President is elected by the Federal Assembly for a five-year term and can serve a maximum of two terms.
The President's duties include signing laws, appointing federal judges, and representing Germany at official events. While the role is mostly symbolic, the President can influence public opinion and has the power to dissolve the Bundestag under certain circumstances.
