Presentation of Jesus at the Temple
The "Presentation of Jesus at the Temple" is a significant event in the Christian tradition, described in the Gospel of Luke. It occurs forty days after the birth of Jesus, when Mary and Joseph bring him to the Temple in Jerusalem to present him to the Lord, following Jewish law.
During this event, they encounter Simeon, a devout man who had been promised by the Holy Spirit that he would see the Messiah before his death. Simeon recognizes Jesus as the Savior and praises God, while Anna, a prophetess, also acknowledges Jesus and speaks about him to all who were waiting for redemption.
