Premios Príncipe de Asturias
The Premios Príncipe de Asturias are prestigious awards presented annually in Spain to recognize outstanding achievements in various fields, including the arts, sciences, and humanities. Established in 1980, these awards aim to honor individuals and organizations that contribute to the cultural and scientific advancement of humanity.
Each award is named after the Prince of Asturias, a title traditionally held by the heir to the Spanish throne. The awards are presented in a ceremony held in Oviedo, the capital of the Asturias region, and winners receive a monetary prize, a diploma, and a sculpture designed by the artist Joan Miró.
