Preah Vihear
Preah Vihear is an ancient Hindu temple located on a 525-meter cliff in the Dângrêk Mountains of Cambodia. Built during the Khmer Empire in the first half of the 11th century, it is dedicated to the god Shiva. The temple complex is known for its stunning architecture and intricate carvings, showcasing the artistic achievements of the Khmer civilization.
In 2008, Preah Vihear was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site, recognizing its cultural significance and historical value. The site has been a focal point of territorial disputes between Cambodia and Thailand, highlighting its importance in both national identity and heritage preservation.
