Poverty Bay
Poverty Bay is a coastal region located on the North Island of New Zealand. It is named for the early European settlers who found the area difficult for farming and trade. The bay is surrounded by hills and features a rich cultural history, particularly related to the Māori people, who have lived in the area for centuries.
The city of Gisborne is the main urban center in Poverty Bay. It is known for its beautiful beaches, vineyards, and as the first place in New Zealand to see the sunrise each day. The region is also significant for its agricultural production, including kiwifruit and wine.
