Post-Tropical
"Post-Tropical" refers to a weather system that has lost its tropical characteristics, typically after moving over cooler waters or land. These systems can still produce significant weather, such as heavy rain and strong winds, but they no longer have the organized structure of a tropical cyclone like a hurricane or typhoon.
When a tropical storm or hurricane transitions to a post-tropical system, it may still be referred to by its original name, such as Hurricane Sandy. Meteorologists monitor these systems closely, as they can still impact coastal areas and inland regions with severe weather conditions.
