Pork Production
Pork production involves raising pigs for meat, which is known as pork. Farmers typically breed specific pig breeds, such as Yorkshire or Duroc, that are known for their growth rates and meat quality. Pigs are usually raised in farms where they are provided with proper nutrition, housing, and veterinary care to ensure their health and productivity.
The process of pork production includes several stages: breeding, gestation, farrowing (birthing), and growing. After weaning, piglets are raised until they reach market weight, usually around 250 pounds. Once ready, they are processed in facilities that follow strict safety and quality standards to produce various pork products, including bacon, ham, and sausage.
