Pope Hormisdas
Pope Hormisdas served as the head of the Roman Catholic Church from 514 to 523 AD. He is known for his efforts to restore unity within the Church, particularly after the schism caused by the Acacian Schism. Hormisdas worked to reconcile differences between the Eastern and Western branches of Christianity.
During his papacy, Hormisdas issued the Formula of Hormisdas, a declaration aimed at clarifying the Church's teachings and affirming the authority of the papacy. His leadership contributed to the strengthening of the Church's position in the face of political and theological challenges during the early 6th century.
