Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace
The Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace was a part of the Roman Catholic Church, established to promote social justice and peace in the world. It worked to address issues such as poverty, human rights, and the environment, aligning its efforts with the teachings of the Church and the broader mission of the Vatican.
In 2016, the council was merged into the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development. This change aimed to streamline the Church's efforts in addressing contemporary social issues, ensuring a more integrated approach to promoting the dignity of every person and fostering a just society in line with Pope Francis' teachings.
