Pontic Greek
Pontic Greek is a dialect of the Greek language that originated in the region of Pontus, located on the southern coast of the Black Sea. It developed as a result of the Greek communities that settled in this area during ancient times and has unique phonetic, grammatical, and vocabulary features that distinguish it from other Greek dialects.
Historically, Pontic Greeks maintained their language and culture despite various political changes and migrations. Today, Pontic Greek is spoken by some communities, particularly among the descendants of those who migrated to Greece and other countries during the early 20th century, preserving their rich heritage.
