Ponte dei Sospiri
The Ponte dei Sospiri, or Bridge of Sighs, is a famous bridge in Venice, Italy. Built in the early 17th century, it connects the Doge's Palace to the Prigioni Nuove (New Prison). The bridge is made of white limestone and features beautiful Baroque architecture, with small windows that offer a view of the surrounding canals.
The name "Bridge of Sighs" is believed to come from the sighs of prisoners who crossed it, catching their last glimpse of freedom before being imprisoned. Today, it is a popular tourist attraction, admired for its historical significance and romantic scenery.
