Pond Heron
The Pond Heron is a medium-sized bird belonging to the family Ardeidae. It is commonly found in wetlands, rice fields, and shallow waters across parts of Asia and Africa. This bird is known for its long legs and neck, which help it wade through water while hunting for fish, frogs, and insects.
Pond Herons have a distinctive plumage that changes with the seasons. During the breeding season, they display bright colors, while in non-breeding periods, their feathers become more muted. They are often seen standing still or slowly stalking their prey, making them skilled hunters in their aquatic habitats.
