Polyposis
Polyposis refers to a condition characterized by the presence of multiple polyps, which are abnormal growths that can develop in various parts of the body, most commonly in the gastrointestinal tract. These polyps can vary in size and number, and while many are benign, some may have the potential to become cancerous over time.
There are different types of polyposis syndromes, such as Familial Adenomatous Polyposis (FAP) and Lynch Syndrome, each with distinct genetic causes and associated risks. Regular monitoring and medical intervention are often necessary to manage the condition and reduce the risk of cancer development.
