Polyomaviridae
Polyomaviridae is a family of small, non-enveloped viruses that contain circular double-stranded DNA. These viruses are known to infect a variety of hosts, including humans and animals. They can remain dormant in the body and may reactivate under certain conditions, potentially leading to diseases.
Some well-known members of the Polyomaviridae family include JC virus and BK virus, which are associated with neurological disorders and kidney issues, respectively. While many people are exposed to these viruses during their lifetime, healthy individuals often do not experience any symptoms.
