Polish history
Polish history dates back to the 10th century when the Piast dynasty united various tribes under the leadership of Mieszko I. In 1025, Poland became a kingdom, and its early rulers expanded the territory, fostering a rich culture influenced by both Slavic and Christian traditions.
Throughout the centuries, Poland faced numerous challenges, including partitions in the late 18th century by Prussia, Austria, and Russia, which erased Poland from the map for over a century. After World War I, Poland regained independence in 1918, only to be invaded again during World War II. The fall of communism in 1989 marked a significant turning point in modern Polish history.
