Polish National Movement
The Polish National Movement refers to the efforts and activities aimed at promoting Polish identity, culture, and independence, particularly during periods of foreign domination. This movement gained momentum in the 19th century, especially after the partitions of Poland in the late 18th century, when the country was divided among the Russian Empire, Prussia, and Austria.
Key figures in the movement included Adam Mickiewicz and Józef Piłsudski, who inspired national consciousness through literature and political action. The movement ultimately contributed to Poland regaining independence in 1918, following World War I, and continues to influence Polish society and politics today.
