Polish Highlanders
Polish Highlanders, known as Górale, are an ethnic group from the mountainous regions of southern Poland, particularly the Tatra Mountains. They have a distinct culture characterized by traditional clothing, music, and dance. Their lifestyle is closely tied to agriculture, livestock herding, and tourism, which is prominent in areas like Zakopane.
The Górale speak a dialect of Polish influenced by Slovak and Hungarian languages. Their folklore includes unique customs, crafts, and cuisine, such as oscypek, a smoked cheese made from sheep's milk. The Highlanders are known for their hospitality and strong community ties, preserving their heritage through generations.
