Poinsettia
The Poinsettia is a popular flowering plant native to Mexico, known for its vibrant red and green foliage. It is often associated with the holiday season, particularly Christmas, due to its festive colors. The plant can grow up to 10-15 feet tall in its natural habitat but is commonly kept as a potted houseplant.
Poinsettias belong to the family Euphorbiaceae and are scientifically classified as *Euphorbia pulcherrima*. The colorful parts of the plant are actually modified leaves called bracts, while the true flowers are small and yellow, found in the center of the bracts. Poinsettias require bright, indirect light and should be kept away from cold drafts.
